Oh FUN! A Discussion! :)

I have received email from some of you asking for more information on why I support Ron Paul.

First of all, let me say that I don't agree 100% with any of the candidates. I do, however, agree with most of what Ron Paul stands for. The issues that I disagree with Mr. Paul on are very minor. The ones that most readily come to mind are the legalization of heretofore illegal drugs, and not voting to regulate the internet. (Although I can totally see why he is for/against these things as they could possibly inhibit individual freedom and accountability of American citizens. It is not the governments place to govern the people. It is the governments place to serve the people.)

I just wanted to expand a little on why we don't support the war in Iraq. Our forefathers had a vision of what they wanted this country to be. So many people have made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our freedoms as set forth in the constitution. Our military is set up as a "national defense". It is not our job to go into other countries and fight wars for them, and it is definitely not our job to start wars unless it is in defense of our country. Weapons of mass destruction have never been found in Iraq. It was just an excuse for Bush to complete his agenda. As was 911. I know that is controversial, however what my parents have experienced personally has only solidified in my mind how much truth there is to that. Our government is corrupt. Thoroughly corrupt. And only God can change the course of our nation now.

Ed and Elaine Brown and the Hovind's from Creation Science Institute are just a few of the examples of the injustices committed by our country on it's own law abiding citizens on a daily basis. So very many people are imprisoned unjustly, or have their children taken away routinely in this country and it is very little known because 1. the government run media doesn't want people to know, and 2. people simply don't want to know. They're too busy living the American dream to take the time to care. Unfortunately, while we sit apathetically by, the devil is busy undermining all of the efforts that those who have gone before us so selflessly fought for.

What people in this country don't realize is how controlled by the media they really are. People believe what they are spoon fed on the government sponsored news. Why is it, do you think, that Ron Paul has received so little publicity? He is the most popular candidate on the Internet because people who really want to know the truth have to take the initiative to educate themselves. People are slowly waking up to the fact that they cannot rely on the news for the truth.

Just one example of that is that people who routinely put their children's lives at risk through vaccination. Why? Because they've been told that's what "good parents" do. Those of us who have taken the time to educate ourselves know better, and are appalled by the blatant lies set forth by the media.

We do however thoroghly support our troops! Ron Paul has received more money from military members than any other candidate. That fact alone says an awful lot. Even our troops don't support the war, but they are fighting it in loyalty to our country, and in hopes of doing something, anything, to keep it safe and get it back on track. I saw this slogan on an Army National Guard sign last night, "Liberty: All have it, some use it, few defend it." I thought that was so good.

But it's not just up to our military to defend our freedom. It's our responsibility as Christians and citizens of this country to do our part. We HAVE to educate ourselves. Time is running out. The last chance for our country to get back on track is if Ron Paul wins. Any other candidate (even possibly Mike Huckabee in my opinion) will just cause us to either keep up the pace we're going or pick up speed on the fast track to destruction.
